Root Chakra ❤️ 🌳 Balancing: Being Present is a Gift!

The root chakra is where your sense of stability, safety, and grounding reside. This chakra is the foundation for your entire energy system—when balanced, it creates a solid base from which you can build your desired reality! Remember in the previous post I talked about your basic needs with your Sacral Chakra? Here in the Root Chakra, we meet our feelings of security and safety head-on. This safety can come from the environment we are in or from a deeper sense of feeling at home within our own bodies.



As you know there are multiple sides to this. When we experience trauma, we can subconsciously disconnect from our sense of safety, leading us to feel hyper-vigilant. This state of constant worry often doesn't feel like "home", giving us an out-of-body experience, where we let our thoughts control us (crown chakra); keeping us focused on external circumstances rather than our internal well-being. This disconnection can also cause us to live in the past too, replaying fears of unresolved emotions tied to trauma. Do you see how synonymous the crown and root (top & bottom) are?


Being present, by contrast, means consciously recognizing your body and its power. You can move it, guide it, and even choose how to feel in it. The root chakra invites you to reconnect with this awareness and reclaim your stability. And let me remind you again... we are spirits having a human experience, which means, it's vital to bring ourselves in to balance... especially if we are trying to create something!


The root chakra is where you get to see, feel, touch, taste, and hear the manifestations that originated from your crown chakra. It’s the tangible, living reality we co-create with the universe—a physical representation of your desires brought to life. However, holding onto fear can block this process.




Let's talk about a few signs when your Root Chakra is off balance


Physical clutter: A messy, chaotic space reflects your internal state of mind. Not everyone is neat & tidy, but things don't have to be disarray, junky and unorganized either.

Financial instability: Struggles with money or an inability to feel secure in your income can signal an imbalance. Money is also energy and subconsciously (or consciously) can reflect your beliefs around giving or receiving a certain amount of money.

Disconnection: Feeling lost, directionless, or ungrounded in your daily life is connected to your loss of purpose in your own life.

Excessive fear: Constantly worrying or feeling unsafe, even when there’s no immediate threat only creates more negativity.

Health complications: If your spiritual wellness is off balance, you will also be off mentally & emotionally, which then causes further distress and dis-ease towards your physical health.


When you can recognize these symptoms, you may also relate to being caught in survival mode. When we can recognize where your source of stress is, you can stop to cycles of feeling trapped in y patterns of survival.




When you're in survival mode, your primal instincts are actived —your fight, flight, or freeze responses get involved to protect you. This can be helpful to give you the ability to sense danger, act decisively, and take care of your basic needs. But when you’re not present, or in survival for too long, you can become disconnected from your everday needs, leaving you laser focused on the main thing you DON'T want to happen!


Though meditation and mindfulness practices help you with more self-awareness & being present too. It allows you to honor the natural rhythm of your body and its needs. Think of it like this, when you notice the way your breath fills your lungs, the strength of your muscles as you move, or the stability of your feet on the ground, thats your grounded awareness. Connect with yourself deeply to feel grounded to your root chakra. Try to stay out of your head, catch yourself when you find yourself overthinking, or being consumed by fear because all of that will make you miss the signals your body is sending—signals that guide you toward safety, stability, and trust. Being present allows you to reconnect with this primal WISDOM, helping you to act in alignment with your true needs.


Releasing fear is key to manifesting your heart’s desires. Fear creates resistance, which keeps you stuck in patterns of lack or limitation. Letting go allows the energy of abundance to flow freely, grounding your dreams into reality, as energy moves freely through your aligned chakras.



Through your presence, you begin to understand that your body is not just a vessel—it’s a source of power, intuition, and connection.



Here's a few practical tips to bring balance to your Root Chakra & cultivate presence !


  • Body Scanning: Sit quietly and bring awareness to each part of your body, starting from your toes and working upward. Notice sensations without judgment.

  • Mindful Breathing: Focus on the rhythm of your breath. Count each inhale and exhale to anchor your awareness as you stomach and rib cage move.

  • Grounding Visualization: Imagine roots growing from your feet into the earth, anchoring you firmly as you sit still.

  • Movement with Intention: Engage in activities like yoga, stretching, or walking, paying attention to how your body feels with each movement.

  • Engage Your Senses: Touch, taste, smell, see, and hear your surroundings with intention. For example, feel the texture of the ground beneath your feet or savor the flavors of your food.

  • Focus on Basic Needs: Prioritize rest, nutritious meals, and a consistent self-care routine to establish a sense of stability.

  • Shadow Work: Understanding your insecurities and self saboteurs are a great way to find the root of subconscious fears & limited beliefs that keep you stuck in cycles that stunt your growth.


Step into your power, and trust in the process of manifestation as a stable foundation that gives your the abundance that you deserve.
